Selling tobacco, including heated and oral tobacco, in China must be approved by the Chinese State Tobacco Monopoly. Following the enactment of comprehensive regulations for e-cigarettes, the authorities could focus on developing a national standard for heated tobacco. This would be a logical next step following the opening of the first heated tobacco experience store by the Sichuan local tobacco administration in June 2020.
