Sweden extends cigarette regulations to cover tobacco-free nicotine products

Limits similar to those already found on tobacco products such as cigarettes and snus will now also apply to tobacco-free nicotine products after Sweden’s parliament, the Riksdag, voted yesterday to modify legislation.

The extended rules include a ban on advertising in print and broadcast media and online, and limits on how products are displayed in stores.

However, lawmakers elected to drop a proposal originally included in the same bill that would have banned flavours in nicotine products.
