Heated tobacco products and all other electronic smoking alternative, such as e-cigarettes, will almost certainly remain banned in Brazil following a unanimous vote by the board of Anvisa, the country’s health agency.
In addition to maintaining the existing ban, the agency voted to adopt measures to reduce supply and demand. This will include direct action such as increasing inspections to combat supply and consumption as well as greater co-operation between Anvisa and other agencies, and creating educational advertising campaigns.
