US: heated tobacco regulation – federal packaging requirements, December 2022

Heated tobacco products must comply with the applicable requirements for packages within the US and are subject to Food and Drug Administration (FDA) authority.

The Family Smoking Prevention and Tobacco Control Act (TCA) was enacted on 22nd June 2009, and granted the FDA new authority to regulate the manufacture, marketing, and distribution of tobacco products.
