Heated tobacco products are regulated in Bulgaria by the Law on Tobacco and Tobacco Products (Tobacco Law), which was amended in 2016 by transposing the TPD. According to TobaccoIntelligence data, in 2022 the estimated heated tobacco market share in the Bulgarian tobacco market was 9.6%, showing a major increase in recent years from 4.5% in 2019.
