Minimum pricing ahead as Russia places new restrictions on heated tobacco sales

Russian president Vladimir Putin has signed into law a bill tightening regulation of alternative tobacco products, intended particularly to curb under-age demand – even though sales to under-18s were already prohibited.

The formality of presidential approval follows the passing by both chambers of the Federal Assembly, the State Duma and the Federal Council, of a bill restricting retail sale of both e-cigarettes and heated tobacco devices from 1st June in line with the rules that already apply to consumables.
