FDA issues warning letter over corn-husk-based product containing nicotine

The US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has issued a warning letter to Amarillo Snuff over its smokeless nicotine product that uses corn husks instead of tobacco leaves. 

The FDA letter is thought to be a first in that regard and could signal a recognition of the rapidly evolving tobacco alternatives landscape. Further investigations and warnings regarding other non-tobacco smokeless nicotine products could potentially follow.
