F1 Velo sponsorship in the Netherlands: is McLaren pulling a fast one?

Health organisations in the Netherlands are protesting against promotion of the nicotine pouch brand Velo by the UK’s McLaren Formula 1 team.

They object to Velo branding being used on a McLaren promotional tour and on the team’s cars in races held in the country, given that the sale of nicotine pouches above a certain strength is illegal in the Netherlands.

However, the Dutch advertising regulator has rejected the complaint, saying that it is not the appropriate body to judge the issue.
