The governor of Oklahoma says losing a disagreement over tobacco tax will force him to give up half his state.
Kevin Stitt, the Republican governor, has been locked in a running battle with his legislature over a proposal to preserve an extension on tribal-state compacts (a type of agreement involving overlapping jurisdictions of states and Native American tribes) that involve tribal tobacco revenues until the end of 2024.
