Malaysian industry mostly favours new tobacco law, wants guidance, lower costs

Malaysian e-cigarette groups and health associations welcomed the enactment this month of a new tobacco law that includes vape liquids and devices, but they expressed concern about the lack of clarity of selective enforcement for certain aspects of the regulation.

The Control of Smoking Products for Public Health Act 2024 is the new legal framework for vaping and tobacco products, including heated tobacco, where parts of the regulation give a grace period for compliance.
