The US Centers for Disease Control (CDC)’s Office on Smoking and Health (OSH) appears to be one of the casualties of job cuts throughout the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) since Robert F Kennedy Jr.’s appointment as health secretary.
An HHS spokesperson would neither confirm nor deny that the OSH was being shuttered. A spokesperson for the department only said: “Critical programmes within the CDC will continue as part of secretary Kennedy’s vision to streamline operations and create a more efficient HHS.”
