Delay of US menthol cigarette ban by White House frustrates health groups

The Biden administration will take more time to review the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA)’s proposed rule to ban the sale of menthol cigarettes, which is now to be delayed until at least sometime in 2024, raising concerns among public health groups and others.

Last week, the White House updated its regulatory agenda – suggesting that any final ban on menthol wouldn’t take place until at least March.
