Finnish health groups ask retailers to hold nicotine pouch sales for revised laws

Finnish public health organisations have sent a joint open letter to retailers, urging them not to sell nicotine pouches while tobacco laws are being revised. The sale of nicotine pouches boomed after the authority regulating pharmaceuticals stopped classifying them as medicinal.

In the open letter to retailers, the health organisations highlighted the addictive nature of nicotine and its potential harm to people, especially children and young adults, and the environment.
