The Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) is moving closer to adopting unified regulations for electronic alternatives to tobacco products.
On 9th January, the GCC Standardization Organization (GSO) approved the final draft of a standard to regulate liquids and products used in electronic alternatives to traditional tobacco products, intended to complement an existing standard that regulates electronic devices as alternatives to traditional tobacco products. Once approved, the proposed standard will require GCC members – Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) – to implement it.
