Morocco may be ready to place further limits on tobacco use and advertising

Morocco is considering increasing possible fines for advertising tobacco alternatives, imposing restrictions on the public use of all tobacco products, and establishing a minimum purchase age.

The left-wing Party of Progress and Socialism, which has 22 seats in the 395-seat House of Representatives, has proposed amending Law No. 15.91/1995 to apply tobacco product rules to e-cigarettes. Heated tobacco already comes under the tobacco regime according to Law No. 66.20/2020, which widened the definition of tobacco products but left out e-cigarettes.
