Morocco rejects opposition bid to hike nicotine product taxes in 2026 budget

Parliamentary discussions of Morocco’s 2026 Finance Bill included a debate over whether vaping products should be subject to a higher domestic consumption tax (TIC).

Two opposition groups submitted amendments on this issue, one from the Socialist Group, with which the Socialist Union of Popular Forces (USFP) is affiliated, and the other from the Justice and Development Party (PJD), both seeking to increase the tax burden on vaping products.
