Amendments to tobacco legislation were introduced in May 2019 to specifically regulate heated tobacco products in North Macedonia. It is likely that North Macedonia will wait for the planned revision of the TPD at EU-level to enact any new measures, as its current legislative framework on heated tobacco products more or less follows the European model and the country is officially considered a candidate to join the European Union.
