Regulatory report: India – oral tobacco products, April 2020

There is currently no clear ban of snus or traditional chewing tobacco at federal level; however, the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India notification from August 2011 prohibits tobacco and nicotine in any food products. Most popular oral tobacco products from the west are unavailable in India, although it does have its own offerings.
