Rise in snus use among young Swiss as government tries to curb smoking rates

Snus is increasingly popular among Swiss consumers – particularly young male users – while cigarette smoking rates keep declining, according to the country’s latest population healthcare survey.

Based on the seventh Swiss Health Survey 2022, carried out by the country’s Federal Statistical Office (FSO), 11% of young males between the ages of 15 and 24 consumed snus last year.
