Spanish government launches public consultation on new tobacco regulations

The Spanish government has opened a public consultation on a soon-to-be drafted tobacco law bill. The bill would introduce new measures to protect public health and regulate the consumption, sale, supply and advertising of tobacco products.

Spanish citizens and stakeholders will have until 15th August to submit opinions and suggestions on the law bill, which is supposed to implement some of the provisions of the country’s new anti-smoking plan (PIT) – launched in April by health minister Mónica García as part of the new government’s commitments – to cover the years 2024 to 2027.
