This report provides a narrative summary of the known positions of European Union member states’ governments on proposed EU fiscal policies – specifically, two aspects of current fiscal discussions at the EU level: (1) the proposal to revise tobacco taxation, and (2) the broader budgetary proposal currently under negotiation. These proposals are linked but are not the same.
