Trump has other ways to levy tariffs if US Supreme Court rules against the IEEPA

A US Supreme Court ruling against the tariffs imposed by president Donald Trump’s administration, if it happens, is unlikely to draw a line under the issue.

The application of tariffs to various US trade partners is up before the highest court in the US for review. It is unclear which way the nine Supreme Court Justices may go on the issue. But what is clear is that, regardless of a potential negative ruling, the administration has the motivation for further actions to tackle what it deems to be an unfair trade balance with some partners. The most pertinent of these is China, which has a significant impact on nicotine alternatives.
