Heated tobacco has been regulated since 2019 in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) when a national mandatory standard entered into force. Any possible change to the regulatory framework will be a consequence of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Standardisation Organisation (GSO) standard, which aims to introduce common requirements and restrictions for all GCC countries (the UAE, Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar and Saudi Arabia).
