US FDA calls for voluntary use of child-resistant nicotine pouch packaging

Voluntary compliance has featured heavily in recent communications from the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA).

The regulator has issued calls in recent weeks for companies to voluntarily start using child-resistant packaging for nicotine pouches, and for retailers to voluntarily stop selling vaping products that have not gone through the premarket tobacco product application (PMTA) process.
