British American Tobacco (BAT) reported a slight decrease in its revenue for the first half of the year, offset by a significant growth in the modern oral segment. Velo Plus contributed to growth momentum, particularly in the US.
Total revenue fell by 2.2% to £12.07bn, while new categories revenue remained steady – standing at £1.65bn. The company said it added 1.4m consumers (bringing the total to 30.5m) of its smokeless brands, with its smokeless portfolio now accounting for 18.2% of group revenue.
