Nicotine alternatives have gone unmentioned through the initial flurry of actions taken after the inauguration of US president Donald Trump, but several executive orders and proposals will still have varying impacts on the sector.
For one, Trump has delayed work on all pending rules until his agency appointees are in place. This means, for example, work on the possible maximum nicotine cap for combustible tobacco will cease until the new regime’s appointees are in place.
