As Albania aims to become an EU member state, it will have to eventually fully align its tobacco product laws with EU legislation; consequently, we would expect that any revision of the EU tobacco-control framework will also have an impact on Albania’s legal framework. Therefore, in the short and mid-term we expect the country’s laws to mirror existing, and upcoming, EU laws, such as the EU Tobacco Products Directive (TPD).
