Illegal nicotine pouch trade thriving in Canada one year after sales restrictions

The sale of illicit nicotine pouches is flourishing in Canada a year after the government imposed retail restrictions, according to covenience stores and the maker of Zonnic – the only authorised product on the market.

However, Health Canada says it is working to crack down on illegal sales. It dealt with 271 cases of unauthorised nicotine pouch products in locations across Canada over the past year.
