Ispire joint venture files first-ever US FDA PMTA for age-gating chip in ENDS devices

US-based company Ispire Technology has recently announced that Ike Tech, a joint venture it has co-founded, filed the first-ever premarket tobacco product application (PMTA) with the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for a blockchain-enabled, interoperable age-gating chip – a system that goes far beyond point-of-sale checks by requiring continuous, real-time identity verification to access electronic nicotine delivery system (ENDS) devices.
