Regulatory report: US – Chicago metropolitan area, November 2021

TobaccoIntelligence has compiled lists of all the local regulations affecting tobacco and e-cigarettes for districts in the US Chicago metropolitan area. The Chicago metropolitan area is the fourth-largest metropolitan area in the US. Both the Combined Statistical Area (CSA) and the Metropolitan Statistical Area (MSA) include parts of three states.
Most Illinois localities have some sort of additional regulation on top of the state’s laws when it comes to e-cigarettes and tobacco products. Cities have been more active than counties. By contrast, Indiana localities rarely have individual regulations that vary from the state laws. There are indications that Wisconsin is active regarding additional tobacco and vaping regulations.
