US tobacco regulator responds to critical report with promise of five-year plan

The US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has announced its plans to address the recommendations put forward in December in a damning report by the Reagan-Udall Foundation on the performance of its Center for Tobacco Products (CTP).

CTP director Brian King said the centre was “committed to addressing all the recommendations outlined in the report as expeditiously as possible”, although the implementation of some of them would require time and external collaboration.
